As the Senior Communications Manager here at Balanced Body it is my responsibility to, er, communicate with you when we have an important milestone to announce. Guess what – we do!
In less than three months Pilates on Tour, our acclaimed continuing education conference, celebrates a big milestone – its 75th event! Hard to believe that in 2004 Balanced Body launched its first conference in San Francisco at the former Miyako Hotel. Since then it has spread all over the world and has reached literally thousands of people – from Los Angeles to New York to London to Istanbul to Seoul and more.
For those of you aren’t familiar with Pilates on Tour (or POT), it is designed for Pilates and movement professionals as a vehicle to hone your skills in a friendly, nurturing environment. It features intimate class sizes, ‘A’ list (but very approachable) instructors, and plenty of fun equipment to play on. It’s a great way for pros to stay at the top of their game.
It’s also an opportunity to really network and share ideas with your peers. I was at our conference in Phoenix last month doing some work with our videographer. What struck me there was the true sense of community that pervaded the event – from attendees and presenters. There were no egos or hidden agendas. These were people who had a united goal to make their business the best it could be and have a good time doing it. And that’s pretty cool when your business is helping others make healthy and positive changes in their lives.
For our 75th POT we wanted to bring it back to where it all began –our hometown of Sacramento – on July 24-26. Our class sessions will be held at the Sacramento Conference Center, and we will also have a 75th celebration party at our headquarters that Friday. There will be awesome chow and drinks, gifts, factory tours, circus performances (I kid you not), and much more.
In the coming weeks you’ll see more posts about what has made POT such an industry phenomenon and how it has touched so many lives. There will also be posts about our hometown and what makes it a truly unique place to live and work. So stay tuned – this will be fun!
In the meantime if you’d like to learn more about POT you can do so here.
Hope to see you there.
