During this month, our hosts, Misty Lynne Cauthen and Nicky Taylor Steward will explore the parallels between the expression of resistance in physical movement and the ongoing resistance of Black Americans in society. Intrinsically, the movement of resistance carries us closer to achieving our physical best; societally, the movement of resistance brings us forward to the equity and belonging promised to all.

As we go on this journey of movement, each week will focus on the theme and tie back to a familiar Pilates and movement exercise. This week, we explore the roll-up, both without the use of resistance (yet creating it internally as we cue in Pilates) and then adding an external stimulus with the MOTR arm to use resistance in a different way!
