Background: Pilates on Tour

Pilates on Tour conferences are designed to provide the Pilates community with quality continuing education while also offering opportunities for students, instructors and our Pilates world to connect, communicate, and network with each other. Pilates on Tour is presented at hotels, resorts, and conference centers around the globe. We travel to a diverse number of cities and aim to attract students from local, regional, and national markets. All Pilates equipment is provided by Balanced Body and we take pride in the attendee to equipment ratio by keeping class sizes small (i.e. three or less attendees per piece of large equipment).

Presenter Requirements

  • A minimum of five years’ experience teaching Pilates.
  • A certificate of completion from a comprehensive training program or equivalent experience in an apprenticeship.
  • Experience presenting workshops or classes at the regional or national level.
  • An appropriate level of education/expertise for the workshop you will be teaching
  • NCPT certification is highly recommended to present at Pilates on Tour to offer CEC’s to attendees.

Workshop Topics

  • Enhancements of Basic Skills – Workshops designed to enhance, refine, and upskill teaching proficiency.
  • Professional Development – Workshops addressing the uniqueness around running a Pilates studio, a Pilates practice and/or Pilates with other fitness/movement training. Workshop example: Running a Pilates Business in the Virtual World.
  • Advanced Studies – Workshops designed for the more experienced Pilates instructor addressing special populations, specific applications of Pilates-inspired exercise, and rehabilitation applications.

Body Wise Connection works to restore physical self-awareness and empowerment through gently, rhythmic Pilates based movements. Though Joy is no longer in New York, Joys work has expanded to include all cancer patients regardless of the primary cancer diagnosis. Joy believes that movement changes lives and that education is the key to unlocking potential. Joy is thrilled to be working with Balanced Body on the shared mission of elevating mindful movement as a component to long term health and wellbeing.
