Hello! Let me “re” introduce myself. I’m Portia Page, the Education Curriculum Coordinator for Balanced Body, and this is an update on what’s happening in my education corner of the Balanced Body World!
Since my return to Balanced Body last September, I’ve taken on the role of actively (and passionately) carving out the student’s journey from inquiry to education to certification and bridging the gap between thoughts, people, places, and things (more specifically – bridging to Balanced Body Pilates education).
Let’s start with bridging and what bridging into the Balanced Body Pilates teacher training program means. Our Bridge Program was created for students who have either started a Pilates teacher training with another organization and want to transfer to Balanced Body or who have completed a Pilates training and are interested in being certified as a Balanced Body Pilates instructor. One part of my role is to process the Bridge Applications that come into Balanced Body and work together with the student to curate the best and most positive path forward.
Since each student’s educational experience and path is unique, upon receipt of an application and supporting documents, I will create a journey that acknowledges what a student has taken and create a personalized journey that bridges them into our program. For each student, I reach out individually (via email and/or call) and provide a proposed journey. After discussing the route and coursework necessary, and upon agreement by the student, an approval letter is generated, and a separate invoice from Education Accounting will be emailed for payment of the Bridge fee ($150 USD) and the necessary manuals for completion of the Bridge Program.
When filling out the application, please fill out page 1 completely and send to me at portia.page@pilates.com along with supporting documentation (i.e., previous Pilates certifications and/or coursework). There is no need to fill out page 2, as we now invoice for the program and materials ONLY after approval. Here’s a link to the application.
I can also help match you to an ATC near you if you are unfamiliar with Educators in your area. When sending the final approval letter, I will include the ATC on your approval as an introduction so that the process may begin for your Bridge journey.
Keep in mind that we offer bridging and Pilates education options for Mat, Reformer, Mat & Reformer, and/or Comprehensive training. Here’s the link with the detailed information for each Bridge type.
Our goal at Balanced Body is to create positive educational experiences for every student; and my goal is to help every student at each point in the journey – from start (what courses are required) to certification (Mat to Comprehensive) and beyond (continuing education).
Feel free to reach out anytime at portia.page@pilates.com. I’m here to help and am committed to creating a personalized journey that accommodates each student’s specific needs and requirements
