CoreAlign is one of my passions. In the decade that I’ve been using it as a part of my rehab programs and teaching movement classes I’ve learned a ton. I credit this machine with helping me become a more efficient therapist and it’s changed the way I understand and describe movement to clients. In short, I can’t imagine working without one!
Here are five highlights –
It has the ability to challenge and train functional movements.
One of the things I love the most about this amazing machine is how easily I can help clients understand their gait or a squat or a lunge. The ability to easily change both the amount of resistance as well as the direction of the resistance is a game changer.
It gives great kinesthetic feedback to clients as they move.
The resistance, speed of the moving cart, and the feeling of clicking a cart against a bumper have turned out to be amazing ways to teach clients about how they are moving which really makes our jobs a whole lot easier!
Yes, clients can practice at home!
In all my years of teaching, the biggest thing I hear from therapists is a concern that working on the CoreAlign® is a waste of time because clients don’t have the machine at home. When you think of the machine as a tool, this isn’t a worry any longer. The feelings people get are powerful and we can replicate these using therabands and furniture sliders for homework.
It is accessible to people of all ages and abilities.
I haven’t found a single person who couldn’t use this machine. Clients who walk with assistive devices, have neurologic conditions, are recovering from surgery, have balance issues, or chronic conditions all can benefit from the movement experience it provides. Our weekend warriors and professional athletes love it as well!
It is an incredibly fun way to get people connected with their bodies!
